The uxl team has been together since 1998 when the Lanarkshire Technology & Innovation Centre was set up by Scottish Enterprise, the University of Strathclyde and North and South Lanarkshire Councils. At that time our key objective was to increase levels of innovation in Lanarkshire businesses and create stronger academic linkages that would facilitate the transfer knowledge and technology that could be exploited by local businesses.

The Centre was a great success, however, the team identified wider commercial opportunities and a new innovation management consultancy, UXL Ltd, was created in January 2002 when we spun the Centre out of the public sector. This move allowed us to broaden the scope of our activities and focus more on people, culture and innovation management and develop a range of practical products that help organisations innovate and grow.
